Arron Oberholser
US golfer Arron Matthew Oberholser was born in San Luis Obispo, California and graduated from San Jose State University. He turned professional in 1998, and earned his first victories on the Canadian Tour - winning the Ontario Open and the Eagle Creek Classic in 1999. The next year, he was ranked second on the Order of Merit for the Canadian Tour.
Oberholser joined the second-tier Nationwide Tour in 2001, but a wrist injury limited his play. In 2002, though, he won both the Samsung Canadian PGA Championship and the Utah Classic, finishing second highest on the Nationwide Tour money list. Following these successes, Arron Oberholser joined the PGA Tour of America.
Oberholser won the 2004 Shinhan Korea Golf Championship. In 2005, he earned a second position at the 2005 Wachovia Championship, after losing a playoff.
In February 2006, Arron Oberholser won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am by five strokes against runner-up Rory Sabbatini. This gave him his first - and so far, only - PGA Tour win. However, Oberholser has continued to rank well, with many good finishes in Tour events.
At the end of the 2007 PGA Tour season, Arron Oberholser was ranked 47th and had earnings of $1,797,458. His best finishes included a position as runner-up in the Deutsche Bank Championship, fourth position in the PGA Championship and seventh position in the Wachovia Championship.
In September of 2007, Arron Oberholser was ranked within the top 25 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
