Ryder Cup Team Europe
For 2008, Ryder Cup Team Europe will be headed by captain Nick Faldo, himself a legendary Ryder Cup golfer. Nick Faldo has broken the record for the most points (25) and the most appearances on a team (11) at the Ryder Cup Matches.
On being invited to captain Team Europe, Faldo said, "I've spent a lot of my career in America and have always enjoyed the support of the people and the challenge of competing on the other side of the pond. I hope that my profile and success in the US will be an advantage to the European team."
The Ryder Cup qualifying process for Team Europe is the same as in 2006. The captain will pick two players, and remaining team members will be those who top the European points list and the world points list. The qualifying period ends in August 2008.
