Joe Scott Durant currently ranks among the top 20 on the US Ryder Cup points list, making him a candidate for the 2008 US Ryder Cup team.

Joe Durant was born in Pensacola, Florida. He turned professional in 1987 - the same year in which he graduated from Huntingdale with a marketing degree. In 1996, Durant won the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic on the Nationwide Tour (then known as the Nike Tour).

Durant's first PGA Tour win came in 1998, with the Motorola Western Open. In 2006, Joe Durant's win of the FUNAI Classic earned him exemption for the 2008 PGA season.

In 2007, Joe Durant's best finish was in the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, in which he came 14th. He ended the 2007 season 129th on the money list and, notably, with a driving accuracy of 73.71%. This puts his accuracy within the top five of PGA players for the third time in four years - something to watch out for if he makes the US Ryder Cup team.

Joe Durant's best rounds for 2007 were a 66 at round 3 in the Verizon Heritage and a 66 at round 2 in the Stanford St. Jude Championship.
